1. Advisory Board

SWASC's new Advisory Board is looking for members! The members of this board will play a key role in decision-making and direction of SWASC's efforts. It is proposed that this board will meet quarterly.

Please note: Membership priority is reserved for individuals who have been formerly incarcerated.

2. Education Committee

SWASC is working hard to create an Educational Resource Guide regarding solitary confinement and mass incarceration for the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

For anyone who would like to contribute to this guide, we would like your help!

  • This commitment would be from now - Dec 31, 2019.

  • It will include bi-monthly meetings and a review of next steps once the guide is completed.

  • Some activities involved include: outreach, organizing and categorizing resources, writing learning objectives, etc.

Please note: We will be receiving advice from people with experience creating materials for CSWE. You do not need to be a social worker to join this group!

3. Strategic Planning Committee

SWASC is looking for people who are interested in aiding the creation of more structure, guidelines, and plans for SWASC's organizational future!

The length of this project and the meeting schedule will vary depending on interest.

SWASC has a list of questions this group may want to consider. An example is: What are SWASC's organizational principles and values? Is the organization pushing for revolution or reform?
